Finishing thoughts

Our girls played hard all weekend. I think we need to remember that this is one of the top 3 tournaments in the USA. Well meet that team again and be ready to play them for 60 minutes. Thanks to the girls, Campton and coach Brian for a great weekend

They said we had too many people accessing the blog at one time. Lol

Sorry about the problems. Final 3-0. We played them even up in the second half. They had a questionable hand ball in the box for a goal and a 3o yard direct strike in a free kick for a goal. After a difficult first half we made adjustments in the second and moved the ball around much better. Don't get me wrong. This is a skilled, physical team and they are very talented. Well meet them agsin

Halftime.

1-0 at half. Better for Campton late in half but were going to have to play harder to win this game

We're starting to put a little flow together

Getting a little pressure up front from brynn who's chased a couple defenders down. But no real opportunities. 1-0. This is one of the most athletic hardest fought games I've ever seen

We mis handle a goal kick. They pick us off and take it right back on goal. Nice shot. 1-0 ny

Advantage

Initial advantage to an athletic ny team has Campton scrabbling

Rydey tips ball to Gracie, who gets it to brynn. Brynn takes a left foot shot. Blocked. For a corner. Brynn takes corner and places a ball in the box. We take a shot and it goes just wide.

First impressions

My has a couple of big weapons. A lightning quick stiker. A large, skilled center mid and a girl who can throw the ball in 35 yards

Per game

20 minutes to game time. 2 top 10 teams in the nation meet in finals. World class out of new York. Vs Campton. The sun is peeking through and it's about 10 degrees warmer than this morning. The field is drying out

Finished 2-0. Playing in finals at 2:00

2 minutes left. 2-0 us. Tsfc wins 4-0 but it's all for not. Campton will make the finals!

Not much to report

We're playing good possession soccer to preserve a win. No real advantage either team

A lot of play in middle of field. Many subs going in and out for both teams. Gabbies braces wire pops out and sticks through her cheek. Ouch! Now she's back in. She's tough

Fc corner

Fc forces a corner kick. The ball isn't great but seeks along the ground through the box. Fc girl get a foot on the ball and hits a shot. Boing. Off the post. Phew. Still 2-0. And that's good because Tsfc is winning 3-0 behind us

2-0 us

Goal

Morgan makes a awesome move on the right side in our zone and delivers the ball up the field. Brynn in a shoulder to shoulder foot race with fc defender fights the girl off and rips a shot over goalie into the left upper corner

Start of second

That was pretty dominant but Campton only comes away with 1 goal. Our stout defense is playing great. Amaya playing tough. Popiel having some great headers and Megan's flying all over the field

Flury by fc

Hotspurs make a flurry in front of our net but can't convert. On the counter Jenna receives a pass in right side and streaks down sideline ripping a nice shot. Again goalie in right spot for a save. 1-0

Rydey sneeks up into the right offensive corner on a throw in from brynn. She turns and makes a great cross into the front of the net to streaking Jenna who gets a foot on it and plants it on net. Goalie in the right spot to make the save still1-0

Game behind us

Tcfa scores again behinds us 2-0. I think the math works in camptons favor for the finals but we want to make a statement and win in dominant style- no back door crap

Gia.

Gia receives ball in center of field about 20 yards out and makes a great chip shot ball over head of goalie. 1-0 Campton

Pressure

Ball squeaks past fcs defense to Gabbie who gets a slight foot on it. Can't get a spinning ball past goalie. Big pressure on right hand side. Can't convert

Slick field

Slick field creating a few issues with ball striking. We seem to have the early advantage. Brynn fakes midfielder out and passes wide to Gabbies on right wing. Gabbie crosses to rydey. Who settles ball about 15 yards out and shoots to left corner. Goalie makes good save

Free kick

Free kick by Campton about 25 yards out. Taken by amaya. Good shot Put on net but right at goalie. 0-0

Game on

The other game behind us is a 0-0 time still. Tri state had a goal nullified on of sides

Running a few minutes late

The other 2 teams in our bracket play directly behind us. We are hoping we don't need either of them ti help out our fate but lll try to keep you updated on their game

Pre game

15 minutes to game time. We are playing the fc Europa hotspurs from east Pennsylvania( for brevity they are now fc). They're a very good team ranked in the top 25 nationally and have a very large and good center midfielder. We are dressed in red top, navy shorts and white socks.

Arriving at fields

The team is beginning to filter into striker park. The skies are overcast and the temp is about 60 degrees. What a difference a day makes. Slight 5 mph wind.

Gabbies pick in rental cars

A hard fought win

1-0 us. It's over. Not sure it was our best game but it was a win. Those are the games you must win

We are scrambling to try to preserve win. We're on our heels

Rydey

Rydberg dips and dives through defense just can't get the last strike for a goal. Still 1-0

Break away

Break away by tcfa. Sara rushes girl and strips ball saving goal

Advantage

Advantage definitely Campton. We can't convert. We turn ball over in our 18 and they shoot. Sara nice save tips it over cross bar1-0

Second half

Start of second half finds Campton putting pressure on and controlling the ball. Can't find the net though

Halftime

Tufa is playing a ton of girls on defense. They have a large center mid who dumps the ball over our defense and it's a foot race. Our defense has been up to the challenge. Good work girls

Gooooooal

Brynn corner that rolls around in 6 yard box. Brynn comes in from sideline and volleys a nicely tipped ball out of air over the head of the goalie

Struggle

Struggle of a game. They're playing 6 defenders. We can get pressure up to the 18 yard box then it gets hard. 0-0

Couple of opportunities both ways nothing serious yet though

79 and sunny. Medium wind. Tensions are high. 15 mins to game time

Next game

Second game at 4:50 against tri-city football alliance from Ohio. Many of you may know them better as cincy fantastic five's club team

Gracey gets a great ball wide from Gia and muscles right around a pushy girls on the left hand side. Rips another left footer past goalie
4-1. Over

A lot of mid field play. No advantage. 7 minutes left still 3-1

Northport has a break away Amaya makes a great play and tackle but ref makes a terrible call in box Northport ok hits upper bar and goes down into net. 3-1.

Rydberg doing an excellent job up middle if field. She presses up into the 18 yard box and rips a right foot on goal. Goalie in good position. Makes a good save on a good shot
