FINAL THOUGHTS(North Carolina)

Thanks to the girls for a great weekend and the coaches as well.
While blogging during the game, my main focus, was to keep people abreast of a score change. Since our team was the only team that scored any goals, I'm afraid this resulted in more girls being named who were associated with goals being scored than not.
I believe this weekend was a total team effort and every girl on our team was valuable to each win. What might have been the most impressive thing about the weekend was the fact that our defense led by Meagan, Hayley,Morgan, Lauren and Ella and Sara in goal, didn't give up one goal! Are you kidding me. Thats AWESOME! A special credit to Hailey R who besides scoring goals, plugged up the middle and distributed the ball better than anyone on the planet. To those girls on the offensive side of the ball-Your'e a force.
Keep pushing yourselves to be better.
Thanks again for a great weekend girls.I know the parents will never forget it.

Bank it it's over
Week call by ref gives sac a penalty kick in box. Sara lays out and gets a hand on it to preserve the shutout. Great job sara
First 5 minutes of second half starting slow. A lot of play in middle of field . No advantage to either team
Momentum seems to have switched. Hayley with great slot pass to brynn shot right at goalie for save2-0 still. Break away from through ball by casl. Sara comes out of goal for nice save
Good sign line judge is a packer fan
10 mins to gametime. I have a flight uneasy feeling about this game. These game conditions seem to offset our advantages, speed and footwork, and bring the unknown( bad bounces and slips) into the game.
I standing on an adjacent field watching the 2 best teams from the other bracket warm up. If we advance we will play the winner of this game. Tuff to judge talent from warm ups. But I think it's safe to say we will be competitive against either team .
The team arrives at the field at 7:20 local time. The field conditions are bad. The fields are wet and covered with a heavy frost- temp reads a balmy 30 degrees. Spirits are good but slightly nervous. We play a CASL local team that originates from a huge program. They have 11 u11 girls teams to draw talent from. To put that in perspective, Campton has 2.
And now a word from coach Karen hi campton fans!!! I'm so very excited to coach the u11s this morning for a chance at playing in the championship game!!! I know the girls are ready to play hard and show north Carolina what Campton soccer is all about! I know all of the teams will do great today!

About 30 mins to game #2. Sun is trying to peek through. Field still soggy and rough. They are filling some wet holes with wet sand
Final4-0. Sorry about the misspelling and jumbled words. But it's 40 degrees and raining. The other team was caught off guard by our speed. I think the shot on goals totals was something like 20-3. Not sure what the next team will be like but we hope it stops raining
Hailey r splits defense and her shot just saved by goalie. Hard to get goals at this point with sloppy field
Unbeliviable give and go from Gia to brynn brynns shot hits the crossbar 4-0 still. Are defense Lauren Meagan hayley Morgan and Ella are playing great
Great passing. Hailey clogging up the middle for us. Brynn in at left mid and takes pass from Gia. Splits defense and shot hits post
Yes it's raining harder. Amanda with the hattrick. Picks up a ball bouncing around the 6 yard box. 4-0
Hailey r pass up sideline to Amanda Amanda jukes defense out shot and goal in upper left corner 3-0
Halftime. Still constant drizzle. Sorry about lack of blogging but my hands a freezing. Several opportunities that didn't go in. On a dry field would be 4-0. On s wet field who knows
Amanda cross to Gus in front off net shot hits crossbar. Very sloppy conditions
2-0 Campton. Amanda to brynn 1 touch goal
1-0 Campton. Brynn to Amanda. Goal
Game time. Steady drizzle
Arrive at fields for first game at 8:30 local time. Field is fast and wet from overnight sprinkles. Weather this morning us cold and light rain which makes things on the field unpredictable. The girls were cautiously opptimistic this morning.

The whole team went to a 3:00 practice this afternoon. Although the fields are a little rough they seem to fast which , I believe, benefits our team . Everyone also went to the north Carolina vs Wake Forest womens soccer game. Wake won in penalty kicks after a 1-1 tie through regulation . Brynn and I are heading downstairs now for an 8:30 team meeting in the hotel lobby.
Brynn, hayley, Lauren, Meagan and Amanda got into Raliegh about midnight last night. Right now the millers, albrects and popiels are touring duke university. Man is it pretty. The co eds can't stop checking Rick out. I should ask a student how to attacha photo to this from my iPod Update. We are going for some good nc bar b que at 12:30 and the girls have a lite practice at 2:45
